FAQ's: What to expect on Sunday morning
How long is the service? Our morning service normally last around an hour.
What is offered for my kids during the service? We have a nursery available during the entire service. During the sermon we offer a "Children's Church" for young elementary age kids; however, we encourage parents to keep their kids in the service.
How should I dress? You'll see a wide variety of dress here at WUSBC. Some will be wearing jean and a t-shirt others will be in suit and tie. We would love for you to come as you are.
What are the sermons like? We generally preach through a text of the Bible verse-by-verse. Our sermons aim to clearly explain what the text means and how it applies to our lives.
What is the music like? Our music is traditional. We sing a mixture of newer songs and old hymns. We aim for the music to support the sound of the congregation singing.
What's up with the weird Sunday schedule? Lunch? Years ago we started having the traditional evening service at 1:30 pm in the winter. This helped the elderly not have to drive after dark and it helped everyone save on gas by cutting out a second trip into town. After switching back and forth for several years the church voted to make this our permanent schedule. Sometimes we all chip in and have lunch together, but every Sunday we leave the fellowship hall unlocked and available for people to have lunch. It is not uncommon to see families bring their lunches into the building with them.
